FULL-SERVICE INTERIOR DESIGN IN PHOENIX, ARIZONA
Every project starts with a deep dive into context—the architecture, the location, the home's history, and the people who live there. Together, we'll define the values that will guide the project from beginning to end. Those values become the lens through which every decision is made, helping create spaces that feel cohesive, intentional, and uniquely yours.
For Betsy, great design isn't about imposing a style. It's about uncovering what already belongs and helping it flourish.

how It works
Design should feel exciting, not overwhelming. Known for her clear communication and low-ego approach, Betsy helps clients navigate decisions with confidence while keeping projects aligned, organized, and moving forward.
Great design starts with understanding what already exists. Betsy looks to a home's architecture, history, and surroundings before making recommendations, creating spaces that feel authentic, timeless, and connected to their place.
With more than 27 years across interior design, architecture, construction coordination, and business development, Betsy brings a rare depth of experience to every project. She understands the entire process—not just the design decisions.
Budget conversations happen early and continue throughout the project. Thoughtful planning allows us to prioritize what matters most and make informed decisions along the way. As a homeowner it’s often hard to share a budget with the design team, but it makes the process exponentially smoother and helps to build trust.
Absolutely. CURIO regularly collaborates with both client-selected contractors and trusted industry partners.
Every project is different, but most move through a series of established phases that help keep expectations clear and the process organized from start to finish. Variables include complexity, potential phasing, permitting, comfort with decision making, and any long lead-time items that may challenge the schedule.
Yes! With a background in commercial design including workplace, higher education, K-12 and healthcare, we’d love to consider other types of projects with you.
It truly depends on what it is. If it’s a material that hasn’t yet been ordered and is similar to the original choice, we can likely incorporate it. If it’s something more significant and the construction permit is already in hand, or it means a ripple effect with other components, we’ll do our best to communicate the implications with you.
Please share! Silence means agreement, so it’s always best to communicate this feedback to keep things on track. This also helps to build trust. A true professional won’t take it personally.
Yes! This is considered a design consultation and can be a light touch like reviewing art placement and making suggestions, to editing existing furniture and supplementing with new, to helping you decide where to go next and bringing in the appropriate professionals like contractors, architects, engineers, etc.
We perform due diligence with the best of intentions, but when we’re renovating an older home and something unexpected comes up, it’s best to keep a cool head and navigate the challenge in a constructive and respectful way, together. This is a great time to revisit the principles and values discussed at the outset of the project. Incorporating an appropriate contingency into the budget at the beginning is also important when managing an older-home project.
First, it’s our job to help you realize your own vision for your project. It’s also very important to take design cues from the home itself, it’s vintage or provenance. If we face the rare circumstance where we don’t see eye to eye, or standards are compromised, we talk about it. We can always refer you to a designer that’s a better fit.
