Today, through CURIO, I partner with homeowners throughout Phoenix and Arizona who want thoughtful guidance, clear communication, and a design process that feels approachable from beginning to end. Based within Modern Arizona at 5740 N 7th Street in Phoenix, I welcome the opportunity to be a true community partner and elevate the design experience for people who call North Central Phoenix home. I believe great design starts with curiosity - understanding the previous life of the home, how it serves your family today, and how it can support the life you want moving forward.
Growing up in Chicago and living in architecturally significant homes shaped the way I see design today. I've always been fascinated by the balance between preserving what makes a home special and adapting it for modern life.
As an NCIDQ-certified interior designer with more than 27 years of experience, I've worked at the intersection of interior design, architecture, construction, and business development—helping people create spaces that feel both beautiful and deeply functional.

Whether I'm working on a historic cottage, a midcentury ranch, or a family home that's ready for its next chapter, my goal is never to erase what makes a space special. Instead, I look for opportunities to preserve character, improve function, and create spaces that feel authentic to the people who live there. Because the best projects aren't about changing everything—they're about changing the right things. And this type of transformation is really fun- it doesn’t have to be scary. Let me demystify it for you.
Thoughtfully designed. Never forced. The homes I love most are the ones with stories to tell.

WHAT I'M known FOR
— industry design partner
You can always count on her to follow through. She brings a calm, grounding energy to the team that's hard to put into words but immediately noticeable when things get hectic. People trust her because she's earned it — consistently, quietly, and without any fanfare.
"Betsy has a great way of balancing creativity with getting the details right, and she brings a real sense of partnership to everything she works on."
— Brian, Design client
I recently hired Betsy to provide design expertise for a two-bathroom renovation project, specifically assisting with color coordination and the selection of materials, including vanities, lighting, and tile. I am incredibly pleased with the final outcome and highly recommend her services to anyone seeking professional design guidance.
"Betsy’s eye for detail and design proficiency truly transformed the spaces. Should I require design services for any future projects, I would not hesitate to hire her again."
their Experience
Whether you're planning a full renovation, updating a historic home, or simply trying to make more confident design decisions, I'd love to hear about your project.
Tell me a little about your home, your goals, and where you are in the process—and we'll start the conversation from there.
DOES IT FEEL LIKE a fit?
